Since I still can't read the French postings yet, I was wondering if someone can tell me how Chimene is doing. What's new? How is she talked about in the French press? I see on the http://www.ifop.com/europe/index.asp website that her album has been very highly ranked for almost 1 year. If someone in the USA were ranked like that for 1 year they would be considered a superstar.
Is she planning a tour in the USA?
Chimene is now my favorite artist. She has grown on me.

thanks for the link. Yes, in France, the fans have a hight regard for Chimene! She's no planning a tour in USA actually. But welcome to the Manoir!

Chimène does not envisage tour in usa at the moment as said it Christophe but that will come certainly one day
Indeed, the album of Chimène is classified for one year in the French classification, her worst place being the 22nd
Her next single goes out officially on November 14th and the title will be "Dis moi que tu m'aimes" (Say to me that you love me)
From November, she will make her return for the television in the following broadcasts : star Academy, symphonic show and 500 chorus-singers with Celine Dion
On September 26th of this year, she received the trophy from " The star of the emotion live " during a show-compartment organized by the Beloved radio fm
She will return in studio in February, 2006 to record her next album which according to its statements will more be " bluesy " and will put some of her own texts |

Thanks for the replies Christophe and Savannah. I can't wait for the new DVD and album. I watched some of the newer concert and TV videos last night on this website, and still have more to watch. Thanks for your hard work Savannah!
Here's an idea for Chimene. What about a reality TV show? They are very popular over here, but I don't know if they're popular in France. It's where you get to see Chimene living her normal life, or climbing a mountain, or doing some other real life thing. I would definitely buy a DVD if they made a reality show for Chimene.
OK, here's my 2nd idea for Chimene. What about Chimene and Alizee making multiple duets and touring in concert together? Yes, I know they are extremely different people, but that's what would make it great. Alizee could revitalize her career, and improve her performance ability by being with Chimene, the powerful and passionate singer. Chimene could add more energy and excitement to her performance by being with Alizee. Send a note over to Chimene's producer and to Mylene Farmer, and I know that they can put this together. Tell them that Richard has really thought this whole plan out.
If you make the right songs and the right stage performance for my 2 favorite girls, the excitement and energy would be unbelieveable!!

Ha ha ha!!! Richard is like Martin Luther King: "I have a dream"!!! 
But I don't think Chimène and Alizee will get a show together! Maybe it's a good idea! But it's not easy in France (majors, producer, copyright...)

Yes, Christophe is exactly right. I have a dream!
It's all good, though. I can follow their careers separately.
Now, let me change the subject. What do all of you think of Celine Dion? I am NOT a big fan of hers. Women like Chimene and Lara Fabian are better singers than her. Why does Celine Dion get so much publicity in the USA? How popular is she in France? |

I think Celine is an exceptional singer : she has a long career behind her.
She has a sublime voice, large authors write for her and she has very good texts. She is very popular in France and her imminent return is very awaited.
She has formidable songs in my opinion. I'm not very big fan but I'm fan.
However, her show in Las Vegas is not approved by everyone : she gains much money but we can wonder where is the artistic side !
I don't think Lara is better singer than her, even if I appreciate her very much.
With regard to Chimène, she has an enormous potential, she is an artist in becoming. Difficult to say however that she is better singer or not, the future will say it to us. Her voice is divine, she has much charm ... etc : I'm big fan !!  |

When Celine perform 300 shows in Las Vegas, I remember Elvis Presley in concert at Las Vegas ; from July 31, 1969 opening show to December 12, 1976 final show.
8 years at the International Hotel / Hilton Hotel from Las Vegas, more 640 shows and 1,200,000 fans. |

Yes but I do not think Céline Dion will equal Elvis Presley.
She has already said that some people felt asleep during the show so...to me it will not last for 8 years.
However, she is a great singer who has an incredible talent and wonderful songs. Even if I am not a fan I appreciate her work. |
